When You Walk Into the Room

This morning after dropping off my daughter at school, I was driving in my car back home and listening to the CD “Exhale” by the musician Plumb.  As I pulled up into my driveway the song “When You Walk Into the Room” was playing. When I walked inside my house, it was empty as all of my family had left for the day.  Reflecting back to earlier that morning, it was a hectic morning running around with the kids and I only had about ten minutes to spend with Papa God in prayer before everything started moving.

Back in the house, the silence in my home was inviting for some quiet time with God and I could sense that He wanted me to start praying over my household.  I walked into every room in the house and started praying in the spirit and declaring the things that The Holy Spirit would tell me over that room and the person that resides there, including myself. Continuing in my intercession, the Holy Spirit showed me a vision of a clear jar (room or space) filled with things like the spirits of fear, doubt, anxiety, and confusion; any hopeless situation.

Understanding this, I then started to remove those specific spirits from the room, calling them out by name as the Holy Spirit revealed them to me, telling them verbally to leave in the name of Jesus. The Holy Spirit showed me that anytime you pull something out of the clear jar, you have to replace the empty space with something of God with things like the fruit of the Spirit. It’s important to not leave the space empty without filling it with the Word of God.  With the help and revelation of the Holy Spirit, I then started to call out the replacement words that God gave me and praying them into that space.

Example: “Spirit of fear, I tell you to GO in the name of Jesus, you are not allowed here.  I declare that the spirit of peace, joy, goodness, and self-control are welcome in this place. For these are the good things of God and my Lord Jesus Christ, and so it shall be the way it goes here for me and my family!”

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25

Here is where the song from Plumb comes back into this testimony. 1 Cor 6:19-20 says, “We are the Temple of the Holy Spirit.”  So this means that He lives inside every believer.  When I walked into the rooms of my home, Jesus walked into that room as well. Anything that was not of God had to leave the room and what was of God was allowed in that space, by the power of the words (God’s words) that I spoke.

In your prayer time, ask Papa God which rooms He wants to take you into, not only in your home but in the rooms of your own heart and mind as well. Replace those thoughts of fear, doubt, anxiety, and confusion with the words of God over you and your loved ones. Clear that room and make space for the fruits of the spirit to abide in that place; changing the very atmosphere of everywhere you step foot.  Declare that your steps are ordered of the Lord everywhere you go and He will guide the way. Psalms 37:23

God is with you and He is for you. Those things that are not of God are not allowed in your home, your work place or anywhere you walk into.  When you take authority over them, they are not allowed to affect you nor the people around you; only you can allow them or tell them to leave.  They have no other choice but to be obedient to the Word of God.  This is using the authority God gave you with the name of Jesus.  Every knee must bow to the name of Jesus at its command.

It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” Romans 14:11 NIV

Papa God loves you so much and He is ready to walk with you into every room. When you have declared the way it will be, then worship the Lord for all that He has done and all that He is about to do in your life. When you do this, those things that are not of Him will vanish.

Singing with Plumb. “When You walk into the room, everything changes. Darkness starts to tremble at the light that You bring. And when you walk into the room, every heart starts burning and nothing matters more than to just sit here at Your feet and worship You! Yeah! We worship You, yeah!

We love You, we’ll never stop. Can’t live without You. Jesus.  We love You and we can’t get enough  All of this is for You, Jesus!  Yeah. Jesus!”

Big hugs,
Papa God and Ashley

  1. My goodness, Ashley, this post is such a blessing! You are able to describe exactly what needs to be done and such a good reminder of the power that we have in Christ, the power within us, that Rose Jesus Christ from the dead, now lives in us… And you are right we don’t walk in that confidence! But we need to remember who we are in Christ Jesus. I know that I don’t purposefully walk into each room every day, Demolishing the strongholds, but I need to as there are many people that come in and out of my house that don’t belong to Jesus Christ sadly… And they bring the evil one with them and I can, in the ever powerful authority of Jesus Christ, go in those rooms and do exactly what you just said …. I need to do that every day not just every once in a while… thank you Lord for Ashley and continuing to pour into her everything that you would like us to know… We ask your blessing on Ashley and her family Lord Jesus and we thank you God that you are able and willing to shine your light through her in all your glory in Jesus Christ name I pray amen
