What does the Bible mean when it says “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom?” Matthew 24:7 Have you ever wondered which nations this scripture is referring to?

If you are watching the news you can see that there are wars and rumors of wars that are rising stronger every day. It reminds me of an old pressure cooker that when hot enough it will eventually explode due to the pressure.  Jesus told us this would happen and things are definitely heating up even within our own country.  I started thinking about our nation this morning and God put the USA on my heart to pray for the people within her.  As I prayed and sought the Lord, He brought to my attention how some of the NFL players are taking a knee during our national anthem. Like many of us, I love my country and I am trying to understand why the discord.   I am not condoning anyone’s behavior; the NFL player’s vs. President Trump, but what I do want to point out is what God is showing me. This is what I feel is His heart on the matter and how the church needs to respond.  We must be aware of what is truly going on and start praying for our nation as a whole and for our President. God doesn’t care if you like him or not, He said to pray for our leaders and so that is what we must do.  Personally, I have prayed for all the Presidents that I have lived through as an adult.  I don’t always agree with them but I still pray for godly wisdom, discernment and safety over them.

With that said, I would like to recite the words of the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. When you read these words, think about the meaning behind what was written for us as one nation under God, not a politician in the white house, the physical flag, nor one’s self.

“I plead allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

When I think about the words of this declaration, I think about the freedom that God gave us with the lives that were lost just so that we could be free to serve God as one body of Christ and to love others as yourself.  “Love God first and love your neighbor second, this is my commandment”, Jesus. Mark 12:31.

When thinking about what is going on in the news, here are my thoughts. When the NFL players take a knee in protest, are they loving God first?  Do they love their neighbors as themselves?  Are they thinking about what that flag stands for?  Or are they just wanting to be seen and are their hearts in the right or wrong place?  We don’t know their hearts but God does, right?   Yet, it doesn’t seem like they are doing either of the commandments Jesus gave us.  My hope and prayer are that their hearts and thoughts line up with God’s heart and His thoughts. Truthfully, the same prayer is to our President as well. We all have to be careful what we say and how we say it. In my eyes, neither party is acting in love. If we choose a side, are we ourselves bowing a knee to the wrong way of thinking? What did God say in His Word?

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.  Luke 6:45 (NIV)

Our country is in desperate need of revival but revival starts within the heart of the people.  The Holy Spirit gave me a great revelation.  He said, “The nations within our nation are divided because their hearts are against the will of God and the purpose for His people.”

To better understand this statement from the Holy Spirit, do you remember an old song we sang in children’s church called “Jesus loves the little children of the world?”  The song continues, “Red, yellow, black, and white, they are all precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world!” The Holy Spirit showed me that the colors of the people represent the nations that this song is speaking of. God is very creative, like a skilled artist, and He loves the beauty of diversity. When He created these nations, it wasn’t to separate us, it was to show us how unique we all are and how much He loves us.  He put a lot of thought into the canvas of how we would look, who we would be and even the time period of when we would live.  Everything He created is for a purpose and that purpose is to reflect the glory and majesty of our Creator.

America was founded on all nations coming together for religious freedom based on the price paid on the cross for us and what we as believers stand for; against religious persecution and the tactics of our adversary. Our forefathers were given a land to come together to stand against the division under a kingdom of dictatorship which is really (no matter how we slice it) dictatorship under “satanic rule”. You can also call it “the world system under satanic law.”  As Christ followers, we are not a part of the world system, we are a part of God’s system/kingdom.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.1 Peter 2:9

As usual, the enemy comes to mask himself as an angel of light to forcefully divide, kill and destroy all that God created for His people.  Satan is a wolf that separates the sheep for his vanity, lies and evil desires of death. We must be mindful of his death mission. He is hoping you and I will play into his tricks and join his pack.  This “death mission” is the destruction of nations and individuals within; separating us from God through sin against God and each other.  God stands for love, life, truth, and unity in Himself. Whose side are we one, church? Be careful who we are bowing a knee too! Do not follow the pack of this world.  Read Ephesians 6:12 to gain a better understanding of who we are fighting and standing against.

We have to get back to those words of wisdom from our childhood and remember who we are as a people, one nation under God, indivisible and justice for all. The word “indivisible” is defined as “unable to be divided or separated”, based on Google Dictionary.   When we stay connected to God’s truth, this is where justice rules, changing the outcome of the enemies goal of a division.  When we set ourselves up for our own personal kingdom (self-gratification or self-seeking), that kingdom will fail without a doubt.  Visualize what I just said about the wolf and sheep, imagine a wolf coming after a group of sheep.  If the wolf can separate the sheep from the Shepherd and the flock, the wolf can then devour the lone sheep. When we stand, we all need to stand united as one body of Christ.

Let us be seen standing together loving God with all our hearts and be respectful of others; treat others the way we want to be treated. If we bow a knee, let it be to the King of all kings and Lord of all lords.  Sooner or later, every knee will bow before the One who holds us all, anyway.  Bow in honor not in disrespect.  Stay focused on the truth and turn away from evil.  That is the way to make a statement.  We are ONE NATION UNDER God through the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  Don’t be a divider, be a uniter!  Jesus is the answer and if we aren’t showing others that He is, then our nations will continue to be in discord.  Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” There is strength in numbers

Remember, revival starts with you and what is in your heart. Speak the truth in love and we will see this nation and the nations within her turn back to God, as one that is united.

God loves us all!

Big hugs,

Papa God and Ashley
